2024 ADIDAS 3SSB PALMETTO ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP

2024 Palmetto Road Championships in Rock Hill,SC

The 2024 adidas 3SSB Circuit came to a close last week in Rock Hill, SC. In the 17U bracket, Utah Prospects earned their second-straight title by beating Indiana Elite. The 16U championship went down to the wire, but Austin Rivers SE Elite prevailed over Dream Vision to take the crown. In the 15U final, New World beat Team Loaded VA in another highly competitive matchup. The championship games were just the cherry on top of a week filled with outstanding team and individual performances, many of which occurred in front of hundreds of college coaches and a slew of NBA scouts.

Listed below are some of the top standouts from the week — a group of players who separated themselves when the lights were brightest. Some (see: Able, Matthew) saw their stock soar through the week, while others (see: Alozie Ikenna) displayed championship-winning traits on the biggest stage of the summer. Countless players helped themselves with strong showings in Rock Hill, including the following:

Matthew Able | 2025 | 6-5 Guard | Austin Rivers SE Elite 17U

One of the biggest stock-risers of the week. His shooting profile is elite, as he possesses calculated footwork and balance as a shot-maker, whether he’s playing off the catch, off the bounce or coming off a screen. He’s a volume shooter who can pile on points in a hurry with his quick trigger and range from distance. Additionally, Able is beginning to really grow as a creator and flourished while taking on more ball-handling responsibilities throughout they week.

Davion Adkins | 2026 | 6-8 Forward | Southern Assault 16U

Adkins has differentiated himself all spring and summer as an electric presence with superb vertical athleticism and mobility. He runs the floor and covers ground with ease, where he excels as a rim-runner, finishing with authority in transition. His ability to elevate off the floor quickly helps him as a finisher from the dunker spot, as well, where he can rise up in traffic or catch lobs at the rim. He also serves as an intimidating defensive anchor, offering rim protection as well as switchability.

Ikenna Alozie | 2026 | 6-2 Guard | Utah Prospects 17U

A dynamic athlete in the backcourt who constantly applies rim pressure offensively and hounds the ball at the point-of-attack defensively. Alozie uses his strength, athleticism and skill to finish with power or finesse at the rim. He flashed production from the mid-range in Rock Hill, as well, using both acceleration and deceleration to freeze defenders, demonstrating his ability to create space. Defensively, he is pesky and disruptive, possessing quick hands to deflect passes or snatch the ball away from opponents. On top of all this, he is lightning quick and may be the best rebounder on the circuit, pound-for-pound.

Ikenna Alozie – Utah Prospects
Nate Ament | 2025 | 6-9 Forward | Team Loaded VA 17U

A tall, lanky hybrid forward with a lethal offensive game, Ament’s positional size combined with his seemingly constantly evolving skillset make him difficult to defend. He can rise up over defenders and also has a high-release point, making his jumper quite difficult to contest. He also has dexterity as a finisher, which reveals itself both in the half-court and in transition. He also contributes at a high-level on the glass, where he can push the break as well off defensive rebounds. Defensively, he consistently finds himself in the right place at the right time and has become a very impactful team defender.

Alijah Arenas | 2026 | 6-6 Guard | Compton Magic 17U

Arenas made his highly-anticipated return to the hardwood worth the wait, as he spent the first few 3SSB sessions rehabbing an injury. From the get-go in Rock Hill, he did not skip a beat, reminding the audience why he’s touted as a top-tier national prospect in the rising junior class. His positional size, fluidity, coordination, and ball skills allow him to get anywhere he likes on the floor — once he’s there, his craft, touch, timing, and confidence as a scorer help him convert at an impressive rate. The most impressive part? He has a way of making it all look effortless. Further, Arenas brings limitless range as a shooter, an ability to offer value whether he’s playing on or off-ball, and an upside that’s impossible not to be excited about.

Mikel Brown, Jr. | 2025 | 6-3 Guard | Team Loaded NC 17U

Brown has long been one of the most dynamic guards in the country, regardless of circuit, or class. His tight, creative handle combined with his quickness and shift allow him to navigate the floor in ways most peers simply cannot. He has a variety of dribble combos and counters in his bag, which create driving lanes or space for his silky jumper from distance. As a slasher, Brown has a variety of finishing angles and releases, using floaters, finger-rolls, and layups with either hand to keep the defense honest. His continued growth physically has been pivotal as well, allowing him to see improved success while finishing amidst contact at the rim.

John Clark | 2025 | 6-8 Big | TJ Ford Elite 17U

Clark’s productivity was substantial throughout the week in Rock Hill — he was highly effective on the interior, specifically as a rebounder and finisher. He has solid touch around the rim, which he flexed by finishing lobs, put-backs, or by rim-running. He also flashed intriguing upside as a straight-line driver in the halfcourt, where he implements his efficient footwork, physicality and balance to punish opposing bigs. He provided some very encouraging signs as a pick-and-pop, catch-and-shoot and trail-3 big, as well. On the glass, Clark uses his length, vertical athleticism and quick second jump to collect rebounds. It’s safe to say that the adidas Gold Circuit was represented well in Rock Hill — and TJ Ford Elite’s star is the number-one reason.

John Clark – TJ Ford Elite
Jalen Davis | 2027 | 6-2 Guard | Beauchamp Elite 15U

Davis is a wiry guard who brings legit three-level scoring punch, along with disruptive defensive instincts. He can push the pace in transition, where he is fearless attacking the paint despite his slighter frame. In the half-court, he uses craft around the rim, combining a variety of touch finishes to convert scoring opportunities at the basket. He also possesses instincts as an off-ball mover, seizing defensive lapses to cut backdoor and finish. He’s improving as a three-point shooter and already has a commendable level of mid-range prowess as a shooter. His defensive instincts are cause for intrigue as well, as he can close passing lanes quickly with his speed and anticipation.

Deshawn Dillon | 2027 | 6-4 Guard | Houston Raptors 15U

Dillon is an Alpha with a capital ‘A’ on both ends of the floor, as he is always in attack mode. He is an aggressor as a driver, using his motor to finish through contact, while also having a floater game to keep the defense on its toes. He separates from defenders with his first step and quick twitch, regularly leaving defenders in the rearview. To make matters worse for the opposition, Dillon is an impressive multi-level shot-maker with easy three-point range. Defensively, he wreaks havoc with his athleticism and instincts. Despite being a guard, he alters shots at the rim with his toughness, timing and vertical pop. He hounds ball-handlers as well, using his quickness and physicality to generate events and blow plays up.

Kirby Duran | 2027 | 6-1 Guard | Team Loaded VA 15U

Duran is a poised, skilled combo guard who commands the offense as a floor general. He knows how to run the show, exploiting breakdowns in the defense once he creates an advantage as a passer or scorer. The ball doesn’t stick in his hands either once he sees the opportunity, advancing the ball up the floor in semi-transition or making quick reads in the half-court as a live-dribble passer with either hand. He understands how to use his body, as well, creating separation as a driver to get to his floater at an impressive rate. His confidence in his mid-range game is clear, as he’s aggressive getting into the middle off the floor off screens and rising into his pull-up jumper. Beyond this, he can pull from deep without hesitation with a level of success that’s beyond his years.

Manny Green | 2026 | 6-6 Wing | Atlanta Celtics 16U

Green brings terrific size to the wing, along with a rare level of physicality for a 16 year-old prospect. He has a strong frame that he utilizes to his advantage on both ends of the floor. His best attribute on the offensive end is his ability to score at the rim, where he’s able to withstand contact and finish through defenders. He leverages his size in the mid-post to turn around and shoot over smaller defenders, as well. Defensively, Green shows glimpses of unique upside thanks to his physical tools and motor, which give him the ability to switch up or down the lineup.

Ryan Hampton | 2027 | 6-6 Guard | Southern Assault 15U

Hampton is a confident, assertive shot-creator who can generate offense from just about anywhere on the floor. He is a volume scorer that never gives the defense a play off, using his quick release and diversified arsenal to manufacture air space to score. He is quick off the bounce with an effective first step as a slasher and he is constantly in attack mode. He has some perimeter shooting touch as well, making him a nightmare to cover at the 15U level. Defensively, Hampton routinely turns opponents over with his size, tools and activity level, which often results in plenty of transition scoring opportunities for his team.

Ryan Hampton – Southern Assault
Caleb Holt | 2026 | 6-5 Guard | Game Elite 17U

Holt is a force of nature on both ends of the court. He is an incredible athlete and has the requisite basketball IQ and mindset to maximize his physical gifts. He can play above the rim and has fantastic lateral quickness and body control, and he’s beginning to really process the game at an advanced level. Offensively, Holt gets to the paint at will with his first-step and effective handle, where he can finish at the rim both with touch and through contact. Defensively, he can pick up full court, bully ball-handlers with his speed and break plays up by getting into passing lanes.

Tay Kinney | 2026 | 6-2 Guard | Wildcat Select 16U

Kinney is a blur with the ball in his hands and does an excellent job of knifing into the key to apply rim pressure. He has a crafty finishing package, both near the rim and from floater range. He also has a tight handle combined with a quick first-step, which allows him to regularly get past the first line of defense. Not only can he convert as a finisher, but he also finds teammates for lobs, drive-and-kicks, or dump passes for easy buckets. He’s evolving as an off-ball threat playing next to fellow ‘26 Jonathan Sanderson, where he’s improving as a catch-and-shoot option, while being able to attack as a second-side creator.

Adam Oumiddoch | 2026 | 6-5 Guard | Team Loaded VA 16U

Oumiddoch is a microwave scorer who can heat up in the blink of an eye. He has an array of moves to create scoring opportunities for himself, using side-steps, step-backs, and various other creative footwork to get his shot off. He has a knack for making difficult shots, and when he is on fire, he can be extremely difficult to contain. The strides he’s made this spring as a playmaker for others are also encouraging and worth monitoring, moving forward.

Jordan Page | 2027 | 6-4 Guard | Garner Road 15U

Page is a young (he played his entire freshman season as a 14 year-old) guard with the ideal physical profile, possessing positional size, athleticism, natural strength, feel for the game, and a frame to build upon. He is a quick-twitch athlete who can freeze defenders off the bounce, and he’s already showing signs of a productive pull-up game. As a creator, his handle allows him to get to wherever he wants on the floor and he has the court vision to find open teammates. He has touch as a finisher and has flashed an ability to keep the defense honest from 3, too. His motor complements his athleticism very well, making him an invaluable catalyst to winning on both ends of the floor. Simply put, throughout the 2024 circuit cycle, Page provided some of the most exciting flashes of any prospect, at any level.

Koa Peat | 2025 | 6-8 Forward | Compton Magic 17U

The three-time USAB gold medalist is a highly talented hybrid frontcourt piece who can function at just about any position on the basketball court. He applies rim pressure with his straight-line driving ability and open court handle, he can make jumpers from 3 and from mid-range, he embraces contact and sticks with plays, and he lives at the free throw line. He can punish defenders in the post, too, whether he’s operating with his back to the basket or facing up, where he has a variety of moves and counters to keep the defense at bay. Further, he gobbles up rebounds, protects the rim, can switch into space in a pinch, and brings a winning pedigree every time he steps onto the court.

Cody Peck | 2026 | 6-10 Forward | Garner Road 16U

For starters, Peck has an eye-catching foundation as a prospect thanks to his size, mobility, versatility, and budding face-up game. His mobility is unusual for someone his size and build, which is especially noticeable on the defensive end when he switches onto guards. Offensively, Peck shows flashes of trusty perimeter shot-making, which will exponentially raise his ceiling as he continues to improve his volume and consistency. He’s also a capable driver when run off the line, where he uses his stride length and straight-line driving ability to reach the rim.

Darryn Peterson | 2025 | 6-6 Guard | Phenom United 17U

Peterson is one of the more well-rounded, polished guards in existence that’s not currently playing professionally. He positively impacts games on both ends at a high level. Offensively, Peterson is the definition of a three-level scorer. Over time, he’s also displayed an improved processing capability as a passer. Due to the gravity he commands as a walking bucket, he’s able to generate wide open looks for teammates. He uses his size and handle to get downhill, where he generates free throws at an off-the-charts level, while also navigating the mid-range and stopping on a dime to convert pull-ups. Defensively, Peterson is a block and steal machine, utilizing his instincts to read passing lanes and deter shots right and left.

Darryn Peterson – Phenom United
Jonathan Sanderson | 2026 | 6-2 Guard | Wildcat Select 16U

Sanderson is a multifaceted guard with a physically strong build. His offensive arsenal consists of stretching the defense from three and collapsing the defense with dribble penetration, which opens things up for his advanced feel as a passer. He brings positional versatility to the backcourt as he can play with and without the ball in his hands. His defensive approach is encouraging as well, as he plays with the toughness, physicality and motor that college coaches look for.

Joson Sanon | 2024 | 6-6 Guard | BABC 17U

Sanon is one of the most prolific self-creators in America. A true scorer in every sense of the word, with a deep arsenal at his disposal. He has an uncanny ability to knock down difficult shots, combined with the ability to do so both off the catch or off the dribble. His strong frame allows him to create separation as well, using his shoulders to carve out openings to get to his pull-up. Overall, Sanon is an electric scorer who can take over a game in a hurry.

Anthony Thompson | 2026 | 6-7 Forward | Indiana Elite 16U

Thompson is a smooth left-handed combo forward with touch around the rim with both hands. He can also stretch the defense out to the three-point line, where he has displayed deft touch, along encouraging productivity and volume. His defensive ceiling is intriguing as well due to his positional size, length, and instincts as a paint presence, where he displays good timing while contesting shots. Thompson is an incredibly skilled prospect with both a high floor and a high ceiling.
